Method 01

Measure a ring you already own

01Take a ring that fits the finger you plan to wear the new one on.
02Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (D) from edge to edge, in millimetres.
03Find the closest diameter in the chart below.

Measure your finger

01Wrap a thin strip of paper or a string around the base of your finger.
02Mark the point where it overlaps. Make sure it is snug but slides over the knuckle.
03Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres. This is your circumference (C).
04Your EU size is the same number as your circumference in millimetres (for example, 57 mm = size 57).

Ask a jeweller

Any local jewellery store can measure your finger with a ring sizer in a couple of minutes.

Ask for your EU size, or for the circumference in millimetres.

Tips for an accurate measurement06 notes

Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest.

Avoid measuring when your hands are cold. Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in the heat.

If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.

Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger.

If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Measure 2-3 times to be sure.
